Lia Larson
UK Trustee
Lia is a Partner at Goldman Sachs, where she has worked since 2005. She is currently part of the Financial and Strategic Investors Group, where she manages the firm’s relationships with a number of private equity clients. She is also a member of the Global Banking and Markets Inclusion and Diversity Committee. Until 2023, Lia was a Trustee of Womankind Worldwide. She then joined UWS, inspired by their work to bring education to underserved communities, empowering them as the primary stakeholders in their children’s education and supporting systemic change.
I am part of UWS because:
My Mom was a passionate early years educator. This, together with the trajectory of my own life, have catalysed my sense of the transformative power of education and my understanding of the immense privilege we have in being able to take our access to it for granted. I have huge respect for the model and impact of working at the grassroot level with local communities and groups, in building towards a more sustainable and equitable future. I am delighted to be able to contribute to the work of UWS, who I see delivering life-changing education to some of the world’s most marginalised children, creating gender-inclusive schools, and through respectful engagement with local communities driving systemic and sustainable change.
