Surya brings over a decade of leadership in community-based education, government partnerships, and sustainable development.
As Global Development Director at UWS, he leads global growth, cultivating strategic partnerships, securing high-impact funding, and expanding UWS’ presence into new regions. Surya co-founded UWS Nepal and previously served as its Country Director, where over the past 10 years, he helped transform the lives of more than 21,000 marginalised children through access to quality education.
I am part of UWS because:
I believe in the power of education to empower a movement for systemic transformation that starts with one child, one village, one district and eventually a whole nation. I have seen, lived and experienced what it is to not have an education and to have one. And, all in all I believe in the systems transformation work that UWS is doing.
